Troubleshooting Issues

    This post will be the start of steps you can take to resolve problems you may be experiencing. This is a general troubleshooting list so check back here periodically for any updates to this list.

    This is a list of general troubleshooting practices, and more in depth solution may be necessary for individual solutions, but this will create a common ground to work from to eliminate basic problems that might cause issues.

    Run windows update and download all critical updates
    Download and install Visual C++ 2015
    Download and install DirectX web installer
    Download and (re)install the latest video driver for your card: Nvidia or AMD
    Verify Kings and Heroes through Steam: (Instructions)
    Restart your computer

    For Firewall issues or to make sure that your firewall is not blocking traffic for Kings and Heroes -

    Go to the windows firewall (Start and type windows firewall in the search bar/Cortana)
    Under "Windows Firewall" select "Allow a program through Windows Firewall" (win7) or "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall" (win 8, 8.1, and 10)
    Find "Kings and Heroes" in the list and make sure that there is a check mark in the box for the appropriate column of the network you use (usually Private)
    If it is not checked, you will need to click the button at the top "Change settings" to allow you to check the boxes in this list

    Clear out local settings for Kings and Heroes -

    Go to C:\Users<your_username>\AppData\Local\Archon and delete the saved folder located here
    Your user files may be in a different directory than C:, but that is the default
    By default AppData is hidden, so you may need to change settings to show hidden files and folders (Instructions)
    This will delete local settings (resolution, key bindings, etc.) and will not affect your character or your inventory and equipment
